Harpur Hill-05

11-Harpur Hill-05

This archive photograph shows a little girl walking amongst the stored munitions that were located by the public road around the military base during WW11. To facilitate the munitions Italian POW’s were employed to move the roadside walls back several meters so the space could be used for storage. Today there are five, roughly 1km sections on the surrounding roads that still bare these interruptions into the landscape.
